Novel EXERCISE idea... and getting PAID!

by Olivia Chang
on November 29, 2012

I love to travel and learn new things from people around the globe.  I'm particularly interested in how we can live better (stress less), do things easier &  eat healthier in our increasingly fast paced society.  Most of us, especially in this poor economy, suffer from mental & emotional overload and can barely take care of daily chores.  How can we even find the time to exercise?  And if we don't - stress mounts, muscles get tight & sluggish, energy is sapped, hormones get imbalanced - you get the picture.

The most perfect ergonomic chair!
What has become an inevitable part of our millennial lifestyle is time spent sitting in front of the computer, whether one works a desk job or not.  If you're a student, a casual web surfer or an avid computer gamer, you'll find yourself sitting hours at a time.  A good chair becomes crucial to our modern everyday life, like a good pair of shoes to hold up our feet and skeleton while we're up and about.  The perfect chair, on the other hand, is imperative for good back health.

Whiplash! The Invisible Auto Accident that can Hurt YOU!

by Olivia Chang
on October 22, 2010

I recently heard a speaker talk about being ‘whiplashed’ by life.  How appropriate!
Recent events in many of our lives have caused unrelenting headaches, neck aches, back pain, stomach tension – all as if we were rear-ended in a car accident!  The fact is, mental and emotional stressors can cause similar effects from an automobile collision as our brain sends signals to our body to gird up for impending fight or flight.  I call it the "Invisible Auto Accident".

Are you a walking, talking TOXIN?

by Olivia Chang
on June 22, 2009

How we manage our personal stressors and life challenges can dictate whether we're poisoning or inspiring those around us. Our body language, choice of words, vocal changes & facial expressions can negatively affect those with whom we come in contact. Like the aftershocks of an earthquake affecting surrounding areas, your toxic expressions can damage those closest to you, especially with repeated exposure.

Young and Feeling OLD?

by Olivia Chang
on May 22, 2009

Getting old is not for the faint of heart, they say. It's 'old age'! Is it really?

Ever thought of neglect? As a clinician who's practiced for over 18 years, I'm seeing 19 year-olds coming in with 'old people problems' - muscle and joint aches that won't heal.  Just lay on some junk food, sleep deprivation and sodas - and you can feel as old as your Grandpa.  On the other hand, I see 40-somethings taking a hold of their lives, eat and rest better - and they feel better than they've ever in their 20's!

Your BEST foot forward...

by Olivia Chang
on May 22, 2009

One can't help but feel the stress and hardship of all around.  This economic crisis has taken many by surprise.  Investments are lost overnight, so are jobs.  What you're been comfortable with are suddenly stripped away from you.  How are you handling it?

Are you angry? Cussing at the injustice? Blaming it on greedy investors or crooked politicians?  Let's reframe for a moment.  Perhaps your anger is justified and your frustrations are sound.  What will you do about it?  Will you take the bull by the horn and do something about it?  If this is not your fight, then take a good look at yourself and observe if these circumstances are provoking your best foot forward... or exposing your ugly mole?

Merry Christmas & Blessed 2009!

by Olivia Chang
on December 29, 2008

To our loyal customers and patients - May you continue to press on to live healthily... mind, body and soul so that you may accomplish your God-given passions and endeavors.  May you fulfill dreams and bring to fruition visions!

2008 has been a difficult year for many.  For some, unexpected health challenges and others, financial crisis shared by everyone else.  In the midst of it all, whether your challenges are personal and private, or part of the global community and public - we hope that you will find peace and comfort knowing that our Creator GOD has everything under control.  Nothing shocks Him.  Know that He cares and though the outcome is not what you may expect, look with great abandonment and anticipation what lessons He has in store for you.  No experience is every wasted if you have an open heart... keep it soft and supple so that it can be molded into a beautiful Work of Art that only He, the Ultimate Sculptor and Physician, can knit together.  Put one foot in front of the other daily and listen to His still, small voice.  If you seek Him, you will find!

At the meantime, eat well and take supplements to keep your body thriving; exercise to keep the muscles strong and circulation flowing; and rest in body and spirit to keep the mind at peace.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight". Holy Scriptures Proverbs 3:5-6

Progesterone in Men - A Must for Sleep and Cardiovascular Health

by Olivia Chang
on October 31, 2008

Progesterone in men might sound odd to you since it has a reputation of being a female hormone involved in pregnancy. However, males do make progesterone as well since they need to make testosterone and cortisone (by the adrenal glands) – progesterone is a precursor to both.Although progesterone in men is minimal compared to women, it still plays a vital role.

Why do men need progesterone?

Benefits of Fresh Juices & Whole Foods

by Olivia Chang
on September 19, 2008

As nature’s own nutrient-packed thirst quenchers, cleansers and health enhancers, they cannot be surpassed! Fresh juices contain a broad array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that both enhance and complement individual nutrients so your body gets the most benefit from them.Variety is the key.The body needs a broad array of quality nutrients to operate at optimum efficiency and sustain well-being.

Packaged fruit juices, even if it’s 100% juice, pale by comparison. The reason being that they are usually pasteurized at high temperatures or have been sitting around for a while, thereby destroying most of the natural vitamins and enzymes. That is why they proudly proclaim to “fortify” their drinks.Fresh juices do not need fortifying because they have the full spectrum of nutrients already!

Natural Support for Osteoarthritis (Arthritis)

by Olivia Chang
on September 09, 2008

Osteoarthritis (generally known as ‘arthritis’) is very common among the elderly and those with many old injuries. Arthritissupportshelp them cope with day to day activities.

Osteoarthritis literally means bone joint inflammation and is characterized by loss of cartilage material found in the joints. Cartilage is made of protein substances which cushion the two adjacent bones of the joints. In middle aged and older individuals, cartilage tends to be overwhelmed with fluid from swelling and the protein content of cartilage tends to degenerate with time (often rooted in abuse, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, decreased muscle mass). When cartilage degenerates, the cushions are diminished and friction between the two adjoining bones increases, causing them to rub against each other. Bones are lined with nerves, which when stimulated, register pain as one moves about. Additionally, the inflammatory process causes the body to lay calcium in the area to ‘strengthen’ the area.Unfortunately, these calcium forms bone spurs and ultimately stiffens the joint.
